A great many women do not realize when it comes to learning about Eye makeup styles, the secret is to not forget your lips!

Yes, that may sound strange, but eyes and lips should compliment each other, not clash.  The color lipstick you use can detract or magnify your eyes.  It all comes down to choices. Which do you want people to notice- lips or eyes?

If you want to have bold, bright colors on your eyes, then only have a light shimmer of lip gloss on your lips. Let the (pardon the pun) “eyes have it” when it come to the limelight. However, if plump, sexy lips are your best feature, tone down the eye shadows to more neutral colors.  And, if you are one of the lucky women who have both prominent big eyes and plump full lips, then you have a choice to make as to which you wish people to notice. (Ahh, poor thing!)

When learning new techniques on eye makeup styles step by step, being able to look at eye makeup pictures can be helpful. Diagrams are easier to visualize. But if not, find a celeb that has your similar eye shape and color and see if you can study some close up snaps of them on the web or in the tabloids. They most likely had their eyes done professionally.  Why not learn from the experts?

For you Oriental or Indian ladies, you already know that learning how to apply Asian makeup without looking like a Geisha or stage puppet is hard. Gone are the days of thick dark black liner. Toss them. Lacks, browns and dark greens are not your friend.  Instead, stick with softer plums, pinks, greys and blues that will highlight your eyes shape and shade as well as the warmer tones of your skin.  To make rounder eyes more oval, extend the liner out past the outer lid line, making it thicker in the middle and taper it  as you go. Do not put liner in the inner third of your lids, top or bottom.  Use a more intense color on the outer third of your upper lid, and for a dramatic effect, smudge just a touch on the outer edge of the lower lid.  Also, make your mascara thicker toward the outer edge of both the lower and upper lashes.

For those of you with fair skin and light blue or green eyes, browns are your friend. You want to warm up your complexion and learn how to apply eye makeup to make those baby blues pop.  You could use plums and greys if your eyes are not deeper set, but be bold and experiment with the browns and maroons in the outer creases and fanned up slightly towards the brows.  It just may be a whole new look for you.
